The MK 15 Mod 0 SASR (special applications sniper rifle) is the US Navy designation for the McMillan Tac-50. It is a long range anti-material rifle used by US Navy SEALs.Like other anti-materials such as the M82 / M107, the MK 15 fires a .50 BMG round out to long ranges and can range from target to armored vehicles.
The MK 15 features a fluted heavy match-grade barrel and an adjustable, removable buttstock made from fiberglass. The rifle is designed to be used with a bipod. Unlike the semi-automatic M82 / M107, the MK 15 is fed via a manually operated rotary bolt action. Navy SEALs previously used the McMillan M88 SASR is the anti-material role.
